What is a Barn Raising???

A barn raising is a traditional community gathering where neighbors come together to build something meaningful—working side by side to support a shared purpose. Historically, it meant building a barn in a single day. Today, it represents collaboration, generosity, and investing together in the future.

On March 7 at 6pm, our Barn Raising event will share that same spirit by bringing together the community to help build an agriculture facility for our award-winning 4-H and FFA Teams.

Dust off your cowboy hats and western wear and join us at Outlaw Acres in Monroe, NC for a night of southern fun. Enjoy a pig pickin’, classic sides, Mrs. Sells Famous Cupcakes, beer and wine, or an unlimited Moonshine Margarita Mug—plus line dancing with our amazing DJ Dennis.

Try your luck at our old-western-style casino, trade your casino winnings for raffle tickets, and win amazing prizes, but try to keep yourself out of the old western jail. This Barn Raising is about more than building a structure, it’s about building for the future of agriculture at Union Academy.
